Safe Kids Ashe / Alleghany Counties:

Did you know...

Safe Kids Ashe and Alleghany Counties is one of more than 300 grassroots coalitions in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico that bring together health and safety experts, educators, corporations, foundations, governments and volunteers to educate and protect families.  Safe Kids USA is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of organizations dedicated to preventing accidental injury. 
We know our efforts are needed because as many as 90 percent of accidental injuries can be prevented!

Free Child Passenger Safety Seat Check Station—held at Ashe Family Central by the Community Room (old cafeteria) Every THIRD (3rd) Friday of the month. This car seat check is a free service that our volunteers provide to our area.  We do not work off of reimbursement, only donations and an occasional grant.  We try to make sure that we are able to provide a car seat, if needed, to any family. The monthly car seat check is not a car seat distribution service.  Our Safe Kid Child Passenger Safety Technicians are available to show the parent or caregiver how to install the seats, what seats are correct for the child, so that they can do it themselves correctly every time.  2008 Schedule (68.5 kb pdf)
